Sedation Dentistry

Patients of all ages get scared of the dentist. It’s very common, very normal, and not something to be embarrassed about! We believe in striving for excellence in everything we do—that includes making you feel as comfortable as possible when you see us.

At Chase Inspired Dentistry, we are continuously working to make sure your experience with us the best it can be. From the moment you walk in the front doors to the moment you head out to enjoy the rest of your day, we will do everything in our power to make your time with us comfortable and relaxing.

Sometimes, despite our best efforts to make sure you feel welcomed and at ease in person, there are still lingering fears or anxieties—and those occasionally include visiting the dentist. This is why, in addition to our comfort amenities and friendly staff, we also offer sedation dentistry for any procedure you might need.

What Is Sedation Dentistry?

Sedation dentistry uses relaxing medicines to put you at ease during your dental visit. It can be used in all kinds of dental scenarios—from regular cleanings and checkups to more lengthy and involved procedures like root canals or implant placement.

Sedation dentistry works! It has and continues to make a difference in the lives of many people who deal with fear or concerns over a trip to see their dentist. If you have any concerns about your dental treatment, ask our team at Chase Inspired Dentistry how your treatment could be made better with dental sedation!

Types of Sedation Dentistry

There are multiple types of sedation dentistry available to patients. Two that we offer at Chase Inspired Dentistry are IV sedation and oral sedation.

IV Sedation Dentistry

IV sedation is administered to patients’ bloodstream directly through an intravenous tube connected to a bag of the medication. This method takes effect almost immediately, and we can monitor and adjust the sedation levels throughout your procedure.

Oral Sedation Dentistry

Oral sedatives are administered to patients in the form of a pill that you swallow. We’ll give it to you shortly before your appointment so that you feel relaxed and comfortable by the time we start your treatment.

For both of these sedation methods, you might feel a little groggy or unaware of your surroundings as these types of sedation wear off. It takes a couple hours maximum for the drugs to leave your system and for you to return to normal. We recommend that you have someone else drive you home from a dental appointment following sedation treatment.
