While many patients dream of having a straighter smile, many avoid this conversation with their dentist. This is because they fear that traditional metal bracket-and-wire braces are the only way they can achieve the desired results. However, this is not the case. There are other orthodontic treatment options for patients to consider when seeking realignment of the smile, including the popular invisible teeth aligners known as Invisalign!

What is Invisalign?

Dr. Chase Larsen describes Invisalign as a way of straightening the teeth using invisible teeth aligners. These aligners are customized to the patient based on digital impressions taken at the beginning of treatment. A series of trays are fabricated for the individual, and the patient uses each tray for two weeks at a time, progressing through the series for gradual teeth realignment. This innovative transparent aligner system can effectively correct different types of dental problems without traditional braces.

What is the Process of Obtaining Invisalign Invisible Teeth Aligners?

This orthodontic treatment starts with an evaluation and consultation appointment at Chase Inspired Dentistry to determine if a patient is a good fit for this or other treatment options available at our office. Once a patient chooses to move forward with Invisalign, a set of digital impressions are taken of the teeth in their current position. These digital images are electronically sent to the Invisalign laboratories, where a team will create a series of trays that allow for gradual realignment of the teeth in the smile. The trays are returned to the office, during which patients return to pick up their trays and learn how to use them as directed to achieve the results they desire. Dr. Larsen will schedule routine appointments to evaluate the progress made over time.

What Happens if I Do Not Wear My Invisible Teeth Aligners as Directed?

Noncompliance during Invisalign orthodontic treatment will often result in the need for added trays to get the smile back on track. This is often accompanied by additional fees to create the trays needed. Patients who are serious about following directions will be the best candidates for Invisalign, as there is room for error due to patient noncompliance.

Are Invisalign Clear Braces Right for Me?

To determine candidacy for Invisalign, Dr. Larsen starts with a consultation appointment. During this visit, he will evaluate the teeth and your current bite to determine if Invisalign is the right choice for your unique dental situation. If you have minor orthodontic issues such as small gaps or mild crowding, Invisalign may be an ideal treatment option for you.
